Us
The University of Leicester Politics society is a politically
non- partisan student run society established during the year 2023. The founding members Zaid & Millie identified the lack of a genuine neutral academic focused society and decided to operate one. Our society committee consists of students not only from politics but from other subject disciplines such as sociology, psychology, law & computer science. The society also represents the politics department at Leicester with Dr. Vikram Visana & Dr. Jenn Hobbs acting as expert consultants to aid us in our mission of propagating political knowledge along with fostering a healthy social environment for university students.
Industry & Career Focus
The Leicester Politics Society strives to work at the highest standards possible to deliver an exceptional experience to our members. The society shall help students academically with workshops and training provided to them either through the committee members or through experts in their field. We place a strong emphasis on stimulating analytical and critical thinking and encourage holistic discussion through our Speaker Summits & Online current affairs forums. Lastly, we also have organizations and think tanks invited to chat to our students about their work.
Social Life
We believe University is a place to meet new people and make friends which hopefully last for lifetime. At Leicester PolSoc, we aim to host a number of social events such as icebreaker introductions, themed night outs, Bar crawls, Pizza Politics debates , Games evening & even a group picnic. Our society members shall receive a 30% discount on food and reduced drink prices at Revolution Leicester.
